With an illustrious background in Procurement, Vendor Management, and Finance within the Automotive finance industry, Uma has not only excelled in her professional domain but has also passionately pursued her zeal for coaching and mentorship. Her commitment to fostering learning and growth has set a foundation for her endeavors outside the corporate world. In 2020, Uma embarked on a mission to amplify young voices by establishing TEDx Southlake. Her dedication to coaching and her belief in the transformative power of speech have led her to guide 22 high school speakers onto the TEDx stage in its inaugural year, followed by 21 youth speakers in 2021. These events were not just platforms for sharing ideas; they were testament to Uma's vision of empowering the next generation through the potency of their own narratives. Now, after five years, TEDx Southlake has evolved remarkably under Uma’s stewardship. It has transformed into a vibrant platform where youth and adults come together as leaders and speakers, engaging in a mutual learning journey that transcends generations. Each year, the event is a testament to the community's dedication to learning from each other, making TEDx Southlake a resounding success. This evolution speaks volumes of Uma's ability to foster an inclusive environment that celebrates diverse perspectives and encourages collective growth.
