The GEM Framework

How we build TEDx-ready speakers. We don't just select speakers, we build them.

The Framework

Grounding. Elevating. Mastering.

G

Grounding the idea

Every talk starts with a single idea worth spreading. In this phase, speakers work with the curation team to sharpen that idea until it's clear, specific, and true.

E

Elevating the story

A strong idea needs a story that carries it. This phase is about structure, narrative arc, and finding the moments that make an idea unforgettable.

M

Mastering delivery

The final phase turns a written talk into a stage-ready performance: pacing, presence, and practice until the speaker owns the room.

Evaluation

A structured, 3-round process

Every applicant moves through the same three rounds, evaluated on the idea, then the story, then stage readiness.

Round 1

Idea Screen

An initial review of the submitted idea for originality, clarity, and fit with the event theme. Ideas that pass move forward to story development.

Round 2

Story Depth

A deeper look at how the idea is told: narrative structure, evidence, and emotional throughline. This round determines readiness for coaching.

Round 3

Stage Readiness

A final evaluation of delivery and stage presence before a speaker is matched with a dedicated coach for the remainder of their journey.

Coaching Match

Every speaker gets a dedicated coach

After Round 3, each speaker is matched to a TEDx coach for the remainder of their journey, from grounded idea to stage-ready talk.

“Every speaker who completes GEM leaves with more than a talk. They leave with a lifelong framework.”
